Sep. 8th, 2022 05:08 pmBacktagging: Yes please. I live all the way in Southeast Asia (GMT+8) so my schedule is different from most.
Threadhopping: Sure.
4th wall: No thank you.
Crosscanon: Always and forever YES.
OOC Nos: Sexual abuse/rape, cannibalism, child abuse, domestic violence, animal abuse (hunting for necessity is not abuse, so it's fine), dental horror/mouth stuff (teeth are fine, everything else is not), removal of fingernails/toenails. I'm fine with these themes being mentioned or part of an event, just not RPing them out.
Others: Due to previous experiences, I don't RP with malleable or blank slate protagonists (e.g. FFXIV WoLs+Azems, Genshin Travelers, Dragon Age protagonists, Fire Emblem Avatars, etc.), or fandom OCs (TTRPGs are an exception), or interact with their players. This includes the Doctor.
Warnings: His background involves adults raising children to become killers and forcing ideals on them that should never be forced on anyone-- and he was one of those children. It also involves near-death via drowning, isolation, intense bloodlust, and never being able to be comfortable anywhere because of a sense of paranoia.
Shalem also has a terminal illness not unlike cancer, and often thinks about it in a macabre way.
Physical affection: Sure, Shalem enjoys physical touch, as long as it's from someone he doesn't have a bad impression of. He's always more comfortable if he's the one offering or initiating, though.
Flirting: From people he's wary of or not fond of, he'd pretend that it's just friendly banter and move right along, so prepare for disappointment.
Casual sex: Shalem prefers this kind of arrangement. 18+ M/M (though I can go with lower ages for my friends), I'm down with castmates, or crosscanon. More preferences on that here.
Romance: It may be a slowburn, given Shalem's everything-- he's afraid of emotional attachments because he doesn't want people to become collateral damage when his past inevitably catches up with him, so he needs to work through that. He's likely an old-school romantic, so he'd insist on making some traditional courting gestures before making it official. As for who I'd ship him with, it all depends on the chemistry between characters, regardless of whether or not they're canonmates. M/M only.
Fighting: Sure, though he'd get really bloodthirsty very quickly. He tends to fight to kill, and he was trained to make murder an art form, so it's going to get uncomfortable pretty quick.
Injuries: No permanent injuries or maiming please. I'm okay with scars.
Blood: Shalem has difficulties with it overall, because he's quite bloodthirsty and struggles to hide it, so seeing someone's blood spilled may trigger a change in his attitude. Bleeding him is also something he wants to avoid, because of his Oripathy, his terminal illness, because there's a chance of infecting someone else if his blood gets into them.
Death: I'm wary of killing him because of his Oripathy, because it will spread when he dies and I don't want a pandemic plot. It depends on whether or not the game has a mechanic to cure illnesses or injuries, and even then I'll make that decision based on what his position in the game is.
Telepathy/mind reading abilities: Sure, he has no noteworthy mental defenses but it's not pleasant in his head-- he has his conflict with himself, his wants (such as the overwhelming urge to kill and take trophies) and his past, all of which creates paranoia and anxiety. He also likes to think about the macabre, like skulls, death, darkness, tragedy plays, and his terminal illness. All in all, being in his head can be a grim, chaotic experience.
Mind control: It really depends on what he'll be doing under the influence. Run it by me first please.
Castmates & infomodding: Shalem is a people-watcher and canonly knows a lot of personal information about the other operators before they meet for the first time. I will only bring out general/vague knowledge of castmates unless I have explicit permission to infomod, but I'm down with assumed CR.
Opt-out: Don't want to RP with him, or just want to avoid having specific things mentioned in threads? Feel free to comment down below. All comments are screened for privacy.
